What is Price Cap Protection?
A Price Cap Protection plan allows you to pay a small fee to set a fixed price for your heating fuel during the winter, which saves money when prices inevitably become higher during the colder months of the year. Once you sign up for a plan, we set a maximum price per gallon (cap price) that will never go up, then help you determine the number of gallons you want to price-protect for the year. If the cost of oil goes down during your plan year, you will always pay the lower price, but if oil costs increase, you are locked in at your predetermined rate and don’t pay the higher price per gallon.
